Note: To follow our Bee Keeping adventure from beginning to end, choose Setting up the hive from the index at right.
Remember a few weeks ago when we were so excited about the new Russian Queen Bee? And remember my note of caution, "... and if the Italian Queen Bee is still alive in there there's going to be a cat (oh, I mean) Bee fight (to the death. There can only be one Queen (just ask Mary Queen of Scots if you don't believe me). I'm betting on Regina Italiana."
Well when Eric came by yesterday he found the Czarina Queen Bee at the bottom of the hive. Dead.
He then went searching for our missing Italian Queen Bee and finally found her happy, looking very pregnant (and barefoot:) surrounded by her family. So the story does have a happy ending, except for the poor Czarina though.
Regina Italiana reigns!
