Note: To follow our Bee Keeping adventure from beginning to end, choose Setting up the hive from the index at right.
Well our Bee Keeper Eric stopped by today and we talked about the winter.
Eric thinks that the hive should winter here but that it needs to be somewhere more out of the the wind. He said at best it should be in a sunny place with not a lot of wind. I suggested that it could be relocated to the solar south side of the house. I think that will be near the brier rose bush just off the southeast side of the terrace berm.
I'll check the path of the sun in the coming weeks and see if that will work.
Then we will move the hive when it gets colder and the bee activity is over for the year.
Next: Well instead of moving the hive all the way over to the solar south side we just moved it out from under the Apple tree [NEXT]
